Legacy List ("Legacy List," "we," "us") runs legacylistag.com, a free directory that helps farm, ranch, and ag business families find professionals with real agricultural experience. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email us at info@legacylistag.com.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use a form on the site or email us, we collect what you send:

  • Contact form: your name, email address, and message.
  • For Professionals form: your name, email address, firm, what you do, and a description of your agricultural experience.
  • Free guide sign-up: your email address; your mobile phone number, if you choose to give it; whether you asked to hear about the launch and new resources by email; and whether you agreed to receive text messages.
  • Follow-up requests on a listing: if you use the optional "Want us to follow up?" form on a professional's page, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the professional whose page you were on, and anything you write in the form.
  • Emails you send to info@legacylistag.com, including anything you choose to include in them.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, some information is collected automatically:

  • We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. It collects things like the pages you view, how long you stay, the site that sent you here, your device and browser type, and your general location (such as city or state) based on your IP address. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this.
  • When you click a professional's website, phone number, or email link on their listing, Google Analytics records which listing you were on and which kind of link you clicked. We use this, in totals only, to show professionals how much interest their listing receives. It does not record what you say to the professional or anything you send them.
  • Our website host, Webflow, keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and browser information, to run and secure the site.
  • Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam and bots. It may look at information about your browser and device to tell people from automated programs.

Information about listed professionals. The directory includes information about professionals and firms. We gather it from public sources (such as a firm's own website and public licensing databases like state bar lookups, FINRA BrokerCheck, and state accountancy boards) and from what professionals tell us.

2. How we use information

  • To answer your questions and messages.
  • To give you the free guide you asked for and, only if you checked the box, to send occasional emails about Legacy List's launch and new resources. Every email will include a way to unsubscribe.
  • To follow up with you when you ask us to from a professional's page.
  • Only if you checked the text message box, to send occasional text messages about the free guide, new resources, and Legacy List's launch. See "Text messages" below.
  • To show listed professionals how much interest their listing receives, using totals only (for example, the number of page visits and link clicks). We don't give professionals your name or contact information this way.
  • To review requests to be listed and to keep the directory accurate and up to date.
  • To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
  • To protect the site and its forms from spam, fraud, and abuse.
  • To follow the law and respond to legal requests.

3. How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone in exchange for money. We don't pass your contact information to listed professionals. If you want to reach a professional, you contact them directly using the information on their listing, and any information you share with them is governed by their own privacy practices.

We share information only in these cases:

  • Service providers that help us run the site: Webflow (website hosting and form submissions), Namecheap (our email), Google (Google Analytics and the fonts used on the site), Cloudflare (form spam protection), Airtable (where we keep directory records), a text messaging service (to send text messages, if you agreed to receive them), and content delivery networks that serve parts of the site's code. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
  • Legal reasons, when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Legacy List, our users, or others.
  • A change in ownership. If Legacy List is sold, merged, or reorganized, information may be transferred as part of that change, and this policy will continue to apply to it.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your agreement to receive text messages with anyone for their own marketing.

4. Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics places cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common standard for these signals, the site does not currently respond to them.

5. Text messages

If you give us your mobile number and check the box agreeing to texts, Legacy List may send you text messages about the free guide, new resources, and the site's launch. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Agreeing to receive texts is optional. You don't need to agree to get the free guide or to use the site.

You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help, or email info@legacylistag.com. After you reply STOP, we'll send one message confirming you've been unsubscribed, and then no more.

Mobile carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

6. Links to other websites

Listings link to professionals' own websites and other sites we don't control. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their policies before sharing information with them.

7. How long we keep information

We keep form submissions and emails for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, then delete them, unless we need to keep them longer for a legal reason. We keep information about listed professionals while they are listed and for up to 24 months after a listing is removed. If you opt out of text messages, we keep a record of your opt-out so we don't text you again.

8. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. No website or email system is completely secure, though, so we can't guarantee the security of information you send us.

9. Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we have about you by emailing info@legacylistag.com. We will respond within 30 days. Listed professionals can ask us at any time to update their listing or remove it. Depending on the state you live in, you may have additional privacy rights, and we will honor those rights where they apply.

10. Children

The site is meant for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
